Samsung may buy Nuance, Company behind Siri

Nuance, a well known voice recognition company behind the Samsung’s S voice and Apple’s Siri is set to be acquired by  Samsung. According to the reports, Nuance has not only held talks with Samsung but they are also in talks with a number of other private firms. We do not have any details about the deal if it is already done or they are still negotiating and deciding the terms.

Nuance

Nuance is quite famous for its work in speech recognition softwares. Their speech recognition software and technology is used in number of GPS systems, smartphones and other voice recognition gadgets. This company is also behind the Apple’s Siri and Samsung’s S voice recognition technologies. Last year, the  CEO of Nuance said that they will enhance their technology and will integrate it deeply with S voice and other Samsung gadgets. This clearly hints that Samsung is most likely to acquire Nuance but it is too early to say anything about it at this point.

If the two companies agree to the terms then this deal will cost around $7 billion to Samsung which will not be a bad deal by any means considering the fact that Apple is also using the technology of Nuance in Siri. As of now, we have not heared about Apple’s interest in buying Nuance but the potential Samsung’s acquisition of the company will certainly cause some tension in the Apple’s camp.

Though there are numerous other companies using the services of Nuance but still company faced a huge loss in six straight quarters. This has finally led the owners of company to think that its high time and they should sell the company.
