It looks like that Samsung Galaxy Company is not offering proper working conditions to the people across its Chinese working facilities. It is found that the working conditions offered by the Korean Giant in China are very poor and do not meet the International standards. Back in 2012, Samsung was accused of hiring minors in its Chinese working facilities and treating workers harshly. However, the company promised to improve the situation by the end of 2014 but at the moment it looks like that Samsung is far away from achieving what they promised in 2012. This situation was revealed in company’s own social responsibility report which was made public yesterday.
According to this report, the third party contractors from Samsung has failed to provide the security gears to the workers in the working facilities in China. Moreover, few cases of child labours were also found in China. This report also revealed that workers are forced to work overtime and they are not paid for the extra time. This is a huge concern for the company and if they fail to meet the goals of improving the working facilities in China then the company might face serious problems.
It is also found that the overall security of the Samsung facilities in China is not up to the mark and one thing is worth mentioning here that since the start of 2014 2 fire cases have been recorded which has delayed the production of Samsung’s products. However, there were no cases of human injuries reported.
On the whole the situation looks pretty bad and we only hope that its gets better soon because everyone has the right to work in a secured environment.
