Google censors the story on George Osborne’s brother, Dr Adam Osborne converting to Islam

Dr Adam Osborne

The story about Dr Adam Osborne is not that new and it had been published earlier as well. But as of now not many people know any details or even that he converted to Islam because the links to the stories had been removed by Google.

Dr Adam Osborne brother of the influential politician George Osborne, became a Muslim in preparation for his marriage to Rahala-Noor who is a Bangladeshi born. The story for the same had been published earlier almost five years ago

One of the justifications to deleting the links to the story is the European court’s ruling of “right to be forgotten”. Although this gives Google enough monopoly to delete several links and this was one of those several links deleted by the internet giant.

If you are wondering that what prompted the move by Google then according to the sources it is being said that it was done on the request of an unknown person. It is still unclear about who that unknown person is. However Google has denied that it was over-zealous in carrying out the move.

It was all because of the “right to be forgotten” passed by European courts which gave people the authority to hide or request the removal of inadequate and irrelevant searches from Google search results. This right has been criticized many as it will allow many people to hide their past from the people and is completely against the right of freedom of speech.

It is more than obvious that the firm had received more than 70,000 requests relating to the removal of content and there is already loads of backlog in place. So Google had removed the articles after the person associated complained. But contrary to that, Google explained that it has in fact started reinstalling the articles that were deleted earlier in this week. So this leaves many questions unanswered.

However the entire view of the situation is that this particular link about George Osborne’s brother converting to Islam is one of the several links deleted that fall in the purview of the European Court’s ruling of “right to be forgotten”
