Great news to Sony Xperia Z3 users, Xperia Z3 Lollipop Update! Thanks to the Android 5.0 Lollipop certification from WiFi Alliance, this smartphone will soon embrace Lollipop! The certification came through on 16th February. This implies that the arrival of the new update is just a matter of a few weeks away!
Earlier on, Sony did hint at possible rollouts of updates in the first quarter of 2015. With the certification from WiFi Alliance, this could mean late February or early March. As such, you may have to wait a little while longer before you can have the update on your phone!
As for the other ranges, no news is available yet as to when they will receive the update. There is no news s yet whether the Xperia Z3 Lollipop Update will be Android 5.0 or Android 5.0.1. The roll out will most probably be rolled out in phases so some countries or regions may receive it before the rest.

The update promises a number of tweaks and feature enhancements such as Android Runtime, better battery statistics, lock screen notifications and a revamped notifications bar among others.
In the past, Sony had been one of the OEMs to adapt the new mobile software which is why the delay in updating to Lollipop has been a bitter pill to swallow for its fans considering that it has been around for three months. The delay is probably as a result in bugs in its source codes. It could also be as a result of the tweaks and additions that are being made to it to ensure its users receive a bug-free operating system when it is finally released to them.
In case you are itching to get your hands on the Xperia Z3 Lollipop Update without having to wait for the official OTA release then you could manually check for the update. You can do this by heading onto Settings, look for About Phone then Software updates and select Check now.
