Well, it looks like that all those rumours were true as this new highly affordable LTE smartphone gets Teena certification. Actually, Teena is Chinese version of FCC. According to the reports, Xiaomi will launch this smartphone for deal breaking price of $65. This would be the very first LTE smartphone available at such a low price.

In order to reduce the overall manufacturing cost, Xiaomi is using low cost Leadcore LC1860 CPU. Though it may not be the best processor out in the market but it is the cheapest and good enough to offer you a good multitasking experience on your Android device. It is expected that the CPU will be clocked at 1.6GHz.

Other specifications of the device includes 720p 4.7 inch display. There are rumours that Xiaomi might use Amoled display for the first time but we are expecting it to be IPS LCD. It will have 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage. Well, you do not have to worry as it will come with microSD card support. So, you will not run out storage capacity.

As far as the camera department is considered, it will have 8MP primary camera and 2MP front snapper. It is expected that this new device will come out with Android 4.4.4 but it will soon be upgraded to Android 5.0.

To be honest, any device with such specifications and with a price tag of $65 will definitely do wonders in any market. As of now we are only sure of its availability in China soon after its official launch. But we expect that Xiaomi will release this $65 device in other regions as well.

Xiaomi Mi5 Leaked before the Official Announcement http://54.152.129.122/index.php/2014/12/30/xiaomi-mi5-leaked-official-announcement/ http://54.152.129.122/index.php/2014/12/30/xiaomi-mi5-leaked-official-announcement/#respond Tue, 30 Dec 2014 18:00:07 +0000 http://smartphonetechie.com/?p=8318 Out of no where Xiaomi has appeared in the smartphone market and has posed a strong threat to companies like Samsung and Apple in China. It is believed that CEO of Xiaomi is inspired BY Steve Jobs. Hence he tries to copy him whenever company holds any official event. Moreover, you will also notice a glimpse of Apple’s iPhones look in Xiaomi Mi series smartphones.

Having said that company was able to produce one of the best smartphones of 2014 and now they are aiming higher this time around. After the huge success of Xiaomi Mi4, company is all set to announce the latest flagship Xiaomi Mi5. According to rumours Xiaomi will unveil the new flagship device Mi5 in CES conference which will kick off after few days. However, we are lucky enough to see the first look of Xiaomi Mi5.

Xiaomi Mi5

Well we are not sure yet if it is the real look of Xiaomi Mi5 but we are guessing it that the final unit will look more or less the similar. One thing should be noted here Xiaomi Mi5 leaked image shows that device is considerably bigger that the 5 inch Xiamo Mi4. So, we suggest that it would be something around 5.5 inches.

From the images one thing is clear that device will have very thing bezels and will be thinner than Mi4. Since the image is not clear so we cannot say anything about speakers position and sensors. From the above image we are only able to predict about the appearance of Xiaomi Mi5. However, we are hopeful that it will be a much better device that Mi4 considering the fact that we are just 1 day away from 2015 and we have already seen a lot of development in smartphones hardware.

So, we are betting on 3 or 4GB RAM with latest Qualcom processor. You can also expect QHD display since other manufacturers have already launched smartphones with QHD. As of now the best we can do is to predict about this upcoming smartphone because we are not sure about its specification. Let’s wait for another week as CES is just around corner.

15,000 Xiaomi Mi 3 Units Sold Out in 2 Seconds http://54.152.129.122/index.php/2014/08/05/15000-xiaomi-mi-3-units-sold-2-seconds/ http://54.152.129.122/index.php/2014/08/05/15000-xiaomi-mi-3-units-sold-2-seconds/#comments Tue, 05 Aug 2014 19:47:57 +0000 http://smartphonetechie.com/?p=1082 As we all know Xiaomi India is now functional and last month we saw how good Xiaomi performed in India. Today we have yet another news related to Xiaomi in India. Xiaomi managed to sell 15,000 units of Xiaomi Mi 3 in India within 2 seconds. This is indeed a great news for the company and Hugo Barra the VP Xiaomi was honoured to announce this on his official Twitter account. However, the response from people were not positive as they were really pissed off for not getting the device after waiting for weeks.

These sales numbers sound quite interesting from Xiaomi point of view. There are two perspective. The first one is that Xiaomi is doing great in India and has managed to establish a good reputation in the country. The other perspective is not good from the company’s point of view. In fact it shows that Xiaomi has failed to meet the stock requirements in India and this will ultimately result in annoying millions of potential customers.

Xiaomi Mi 3 offers a great value to the money and it will definitely do a lot better in country like India but Xiaomi has to be careful because if sold out situations like this persists then this will certainly annoy the customers and will result in hatred against the company.

Let’s see how does Xiaomi cope up with this ever increasing demand of Xiaomi Mi 3 in India.

Xiaomi Does not Upload any Personal Data, Hugo Barra http://54.152.129.122/index.php/2014/07/31/xiaomi-does-not-upload-any-personal-data-hugo-barra/ http://54.152.129.122/index.php/2014/07/31/xiaomi-does-not-upload-any-personal-data-hugo-barra/#comments Thu, 31 Jul 2014 12:04:36 +0000 http://smartphonetechie.com/?p=1011 Hugo BarraFew days back a news was circulating on the Internet that Xiaomi RedMi Note uploads images and SMS to Chinese servers which puts the privacy of users at risk. However, the Vice President of Xiaomi Hugo Barra claims that these news are baseless and the company is not involved in uploading any data to Chinese servers without the consent of users.

Xiaomi which became second biggest smartphone company in China cleared its stance by saying that company never uploads data without user consent. However, the custom Android on Xiaomi smartphones needs to connect with the Chinese servers quite often in order to check for the OTA and to download stuff like holiday greetings and jokes but this does not mean that we upload data to servers.

Hugo Barra said that company stores only personal information like synced contacts, messages and photos on Mi Cloud which is a cloud storage service offered by  Xiaomi. This cloud storage service is close by default and can be enabled by users. So, if users have enabled this service then the data will be automatically synced with cloud storage in order to keep the backup which can be restored later. So, if in case users think that this puts their security and privacy at risk then they can quite easily disable this cloud storage.

Hugo Barra claimed that we are professional would not like to put the security and privacy of our users at risk. All those claims made against Xiaomi are baseless and are far from the reality. According to him Xiaomi would never do anything of this sort because this will ultimately annoy our customers thus hampering our plans to succeed at the International level.
