Finally Amazon has launched its first smartphone. All those rumors and news related to Amazon Phone are now true and now we know that Amazon was really working on something big.
Amazon has named it as the Fire Phone and its huge selling point will all exclusive Amazon content along with a very unique 3D user interface. Fire phone has four cameras on the front side and these camera control what’s shown on the screen. This is quite interesting and something new. Moreover, they Amazon has deeply integrated the movements of phone with their software which allows you to control the inside of the phone by mere moving or tilting the phone.
Amazon’s Fire phone has a 4.7 inches IPS 720 p display. It packs a quadcore Snapdragon processor clocked at 2.2 GHz with Adreno 330 GPU and 2 GB RAM. Amazon phone will not support 3G but will support 4G LTE as well. However, it is expected that 4G LTE support may very from region to region.
As far as the build quality is concerned Amazon Phone looks pretty good. The side of phone are made from pure rubber covered with a sheet of Gorilla Glass 3. This sheet of Gorilla Glass covers both the back and front side of the phone thus offering an added protection to your device.
The Fire phone has a 13 MP primary shooter with OIS. According to Amazon the camera will perform 10 times better than the cameras of other smartphones we have in the market. Well, to see how well it performs we will have to wait till its commercial release. This phone has a dedicated camera button which is indeed a smart move from Amazon. Moreover, the camera of phone is used by the new feature firefly as well which will allow you to scan anything and find in the Amazon database. Isn’t it great?
We already broke the news yesterday that Amazon phone is going to be AT&T exclusive. This may be good for the company itself but not for the customers who are not interested in buying on contract. This phone will start shipping from July 25th. So, still there’s a lot of time before we get to see how this new device is.
Well, the bad news is that Fire phone is not free even on the contract. For 32 GB variant of the Amazon Phone you will have to $199 and for the 64 GB version it will cost you another extra $100.
