Finally a complete root for Xperia Z2 has been released which works for both locked and unlocked bootloaders flawlessly. Here we will give you step by step guide to root Xperia Z2. However, we do not encourage our readers to root Xperia Z2 as it will void the warranty and you may even brick your mobile in the process of rooting.
To root Xperia Z2 you need a Z2 community rootkit for your windows machine. You can download the Z2 community rootkit from here. After downloading and extracting the community rootkit for Sony Xperia Z2 make sure that you have all USB drivers installed for your device on your windows machine.
So, here’ s step by step guide to root Xperia Z3 even if it has a locked bootloader.
- Go to settings then developer options and enable USB debugging. If developer options are not showing up then check out our tutorial on how to enable developer options.
- Now go to settings — > security and allow to install unknown applications.
- Now connect your mobile phone with computer using a data cable.
- Go to the folder where you extracted rootkit for Xperia Z2 and run “runme.bat“. This will start the root Xperia Z2 process. Follow the instructions.
- Reboot once process has been completed.
This will root Xperia Z2 in few simple steps. However, iif in case you brick your device while rooting then Smartphonetechie will not be responsible for it.
