HTC E8 a variant of HTC M8 is finally launched in India. HTC E8 did pretty well in China and for the fact HTC was able to sell around 50,000 units of HTC E8 within 15 minutes. This is in itself a great achievement for the company.
HTC E8 is basically somewhat trimmed down version of HTC M8 as it comes with plastic body instead of aluminium one. However, the good thing in HTC E8 is that it comes with normal 13 MP camera instead of a dual 4 ultrapixel camera. HTC’s ultrapixel technology has failed miserably and people who are looking for a perfect smartphone with extraordinary camera capabilities then HTC E8 seems better option.
HTC has used a different pricing policy for HTC E8 in India. HTC E8 is priced at $548 in India. However, this price will certainly go down with the passage of time. Along with HTC E8, the company has also announced a mid range smartphone, Desire 616. HTC Desire 616 is a perfect budget smartphone priced at $280. If we look at the specifications of this device, HTC Desire 616 has a 5 inch display with 720 p resolution, a 8 MP pixel primary shooter, 2 MP front camera, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB internal storage which is expandable with a microSD card and an octacore MediaTek processor clocked at 1.7MHz.
HTC has launched both HTC E8 and HTC Desire 616 at the right time in India. We will have to wait to find out how does these devices perform in India.
