Apple introduced a new anti-theft feature with IOS 7 because of increasing theft cases. This feature was linked with user’s Apple ID and is known as Activation Lock. Actually, this feature allows to stop any sort of unauthorized access to the device. This feature proved very handy and was appreciated by the users. Even the law enforcement departments mentioned that since the introduction of this feature there have been very few theft cases involving an IOS device. This feature got so popular that we even had reports that Microsoft and Google are working on introducing their activation lock feature which will be as good as Apple’s anti-theft feature. Anyways, time will tell if the two companies will be able to come up with a similar yet effective feature or not.
