Xiaomi Mi 4 Review: World’s Fastest Smartphone

Days are gone when it was only about Samsung, Apple, Sony and HTC in the smartphones market. Now various companies especially the Chinese manufacturers have stepped in and have managed to established a pretty good reputation by offering some amazing smartphones with a very reasonable price tag.

Xiaomi Mi 4 Review

Xiaomi is one such company which is now getting popular and is reaching other countries of the world as well. Xiaomi India is the first attempt as company has officially started selling Xiaomi smartphone in India. After a huge success of Xiaomi Mi 3 company has launched its next flagship devive Xiaomi Mi 4 and here we are with detailed Xiaomi Mi 4 review. According to the company, Xiaomi Mi 4 is the world’s fastest smartphone. So, let us find out in our review if this new smartphone is capable of carrying the title of world’s fastest smartphone or not?

Connectivity:

Xiaomi Mi 4 offers one of the best call quality out there. It not only supports 2G and 3G networks but also come with LTE support which is getting quite common in high end smartphones. Though NFC has not impressed yet may be because manufacturers are not able to implement this technology in a proper way but still it is very handy. Xiaomi Mi 4 comes with NFC, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB 2.0 with USB on the go support.

Design and Build Quality:

You talk about the best looking smartphone and Xiaomi Mi 4 will be there in your list. Though it looks similar to Apple’s iPhone in terms of design with its iPhone resembling metallic frame it is certainly one of the most premium looking smartphones available in the market. It has full HD 5.0 IPS display and the good thing is that Xiaomi has not followed the recent trends of QHD display because there is not any difference in display quality but it only exerts extra pressure on the battery.

This beautiful smartphone has definitely the most beautiful display out there. We were greatly impressed with the overall quality of 5 inch IPS LCD in Xiaomi Mi 4 review.

Processing Power:

When Xiaomi launched Mi 4 they termed it as the fastest smartphone and most of us reckoned it as a marketing stunt. But to be honest we were left spellbound in our Xiaomi Mi 4 review to find out that this device literally smoked every other smartphone in the benchmark results.

Xiaomi Mi 4 has Snapdragon 801 quadcore processor clocked at 2.5 GHz with 3GB RAM. These specs might look similar to other high end smartphones available in the market but the software is highly optimized thus giving the best benchmark results till date. You can get Mi 4 in 16GB and 64GB internal memory options. However, it does not come with microSD support which disappoints us.

Camera:

The only thing we were looking forward to in our Xiaomi Mi 4 review was the camera. It has 13MP camera with Sony made sensor which is capable of taking some great photos. The best thing about this smartphone is dual LED flash which gives amazing results in low light conditions. We took multiple photos in various low light conditions and the results were great. The software optimization for camera application along with top notch camera sensor Xiaomi Mi 4 yields best results no matter what type of lighting conditions you have. The front facing 8MP camera does not need any introduction as it is as good as the primary camera and seems perfect for selfies and video calling.

Conclusion:

It has everything. Everything that you desire in any flagship device. It is a complete package and leaves no opportunity of impressing the users. We were surprised to see in our Xiaomi Mi 4 review how it undone other smartphones and we would be heading to local store as soon as it is available in order to buy it. For us it is the best smartphone of 2014 so far!

  1. no sd card expansion
    no nfc
    single sim card slot
    integrated battery
    not 4g
traded off a lot of features so idiots can change the back cover

The 16G for 2000 is rather pointless, not enough space with the default install eating over half of it. The 64G at 2300 is the only thing worth considering, but again, no expansion. The Huawei Z7 max is the better value. 16G @2000, but you can slap in a 128GB card and be done with it. Integrated battery, sure, but you get access to nationwide free hotspots, better cloud storage, dual sim, and the huawei cpu is better than the 801.

    • I have a phone and put a 16 gig SD card in there.. Barely used half of it. Not sure what people put on their phone to take up that much space. It’s just a phone not a laptop or computer.

      • microSD support is must for me at least as I keep a lot of media files in my smartphone and 16GB runs out quite quickly so microSD is MUST!
